The optimal screen is used for controlling and consuming media based on data type and usage — The first step in achieving that vision is synchronizeTV.

Synchronize.TV

TV, Web, iPhone and Android App Use All Peak At Night - Peter Kafka - Media - AllThingsD

TV, Web, iPhone and Android App Use All Peak At Night - Peter Kafka - Media - AllThingsD

Inside Akamai and the scary future of streaming video

Inside Akamai and the scary future of streaming video

My Netflix Blog Post

My Netflix Blog Post:
There have been a ton of comments online about the Netflix price changes. Many of these comments are along the lines of “the postage costs are hurting Netflix”. I’m going to take a different view and point more at the streaming business.
Roku can’t become a video network because they don’t own distribution. Now imagine if Akamai bought Roku, that would be really disruptive.

Tivo has got great products but it seems like they are hampered by legacy issues.

Boxee has not yet realized that owning the “user experience” is going to happen on the second screen, not the first screen. TV widgets are not going to be important.

THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD :
You’ve either started a company or you haven’t. ”Started” doesn’t mean joining as an early employee, or investing or advising or helping out. It means starting with no money, no help, no one who believes in you (except perhaps your closest friends and family), and building an organization from a borrowed cubicle with credit card debt and nowhere to sleep except the office.

Netflix vs DirectTV or Comcast

Why do digital pundits insist on comparing Netflix (which is at it’s core primarily a content licensing play) with Comcast and DirectTV who are licensing AND delivery plays.
