Boxee, Roku, Tivo →
IMHO:
Roku can’t become a video network because they don’t own distribution. Now imagine if Akamai bought Roku, that would be really disruptive.
Tivo has got great products but it seems like they are hampered by legacy issues.
Boxee has not yet realized that owning the “user experience” is going to happen on the second screen, not the first screen. TV widgets are not...

You’ve either started a company or you haven’t. ”Started” doesn’t mean joining as an early employee, or investing or advising or helping out. It means starting with no money, no help, no one who believes in you (except perhaps your closest friends and family), and building an organization from a borrowed cubicle with credit card debt and nowhere to sleep except the office.
Netflix vs DirectTV or Comcast
Why do digital pundits insist on comparing Netflix (which is at it’s core primarily a content licensing play) with Comcast and DirectTV who are licensing AND delivery plays. Unless Netflix starts owning delivery channels they’re really not comparable.
